| Abstract: | The authors of this article consider the strategic implications for a company of adopting a maintenance management information system (MMIS) in support of a total productive maintenance policy. The information in the maintenance management information system can be a valuable set not only to maintenance and production but also to other departments within the organization. However, the adoption of computer technology is not a guarantee of success. |
