| Abstract: | The article expounds on the history of wage determination and bargaining in Italy since the 1970s, identifying macro-economic and political problems which have had a bearing on this at great length. The paper concludes that the onus is now on reorganizing and co-ordinating existing labour market policies, and finally sets out some recommendations for the future. |
