Abstract:South Africa's readmission to the world financial community is forcing rapid changes. Henry Harrington reports from Johannesburg. There is a new mood in South Africa. The fear of the consequences of the ending of apartheid has given way to a "can do" attitude to the country's pressing developmental needs by the business community as well as the government. Business leaders have submitted proposals to the constitutional assembly which recognize the prevalence of poverty as a consequence of past policies.
