| Abstract: | For over 40 years the Volkswagen AG has been doing business in the Asia-Pacific-Region. The auto tells about the initial contacts between Volkswagen and the People's Republic of China, the Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) Joint Venture contract and the Volkswagen Asis-Pacific, Hong Kong. The development of local management within the Asis-Pacific-operation is the key priority. Among with the goal to transfer local management within the regional operations and to send them expats within the world-wide VW Group. The key issues have been the following: (1) early involvement of human resources , (2) projekt team selection, (3) foreign service employees, (4) cultural differences and fundamental values, (5) Joint Venture management and (6) development of local management. |
