| Abstract: | There are many articles about the use of recycled materials by consumer goods companies. However, there have been few reports on industry executive opinions about reducing solid waste or about their use and demand for recycled or recyclable materials. What role should government take in encouraging or mandating the use of recycled materials? To address this and legislative issues the authors surveyed the CEO's of grocery manufacturers. This group was selected because of the amount of recyclable materials they produce and because of their potential for using recycled materials and packaging. |
