| Abstract: | This paper attempts to separate the impact of human capital into its role as an input to production and its role as a determinant of technological progress and long-run growth. The authors pose the following empirical question: Once human capital is accounted for as an input to production in the neoclassical Solow growth model, can the overall stock of human capital explain any residual variation in growth? |
