Abstract:Globalization mandates alliances and makes them essential to strategy. This phenomenon manifests itself more in the commercial aircraft manufacturing industry. At the heart of such partnership strategies is the idea of matching the core competencies of a network of partners and suppliers, who will provide the talents, skills, and resources to produce a superior aircraft , and to spread the technical and financial risks. In this study, the unit of analysis is the supplier/customer relationship and the focus is on the relationship between a USA supplier of cast products and its Italian and French customers.
