Abstract: | Stressing the right initiatives makes concurrent engineering the powerful design and integration program it is meant to be. You've heard the success stories of firms that are applying concurrent engineering approaches in new product development, or NPD, programs. Reports of shorter development time, better design quality, lower manufacturing costs, and higher revenues fill academic and practitioner journals. There's no single "correct" version of concurrent engineering. Its concepts and approaches vary widely by company and by project. |
