Abstract:In the tourist decision-making process different performance elements of holiday resorts, such as scenery, environment, hotels, sporting facilities , shows or shopping facilities, play a central role in the choice of destination. Whereas the natural factors offered have always been important determinants, environmental concerns have come to the forefront. From tourist surveys in Austria, Germany and Italy it is known that tourists regard damage to the environment caused by traffic to be main problem.
