Abstract:This paper provides new insights into partnership in Hungary. The paper examines whether differences in the three ownership structures (U.S.-Hungarian partnerships, regional partnerships, sole proprietorships) are associated with differences in three aspects of start-up experiences. Access to critical resources and the founding strategy adopted by new ventures are assumed to be influenced by the presence of partners and composition of the start-up team. The results indicate that partnerships with U.S. firms provide advantages in access to suppliers and to infrastructure resources.
