| Abstract: | While there is increasing awareness of the year 2000 date problem, many organizations have yet to take sufficient action to ensure that their systems are 'millennium proof'. The year 2000 problem arose from information systems professionals applying good economic judgment when business realities were very different. Now, organizations need to overcome responses such as denial and anger, and move on to productive problem solving. Given the scope of the effort required and a non-negotiable deadline, the time to act is now. Recommendations are provided for confronting the year 2000 problem head on. |
