| Abstract: | A test for normality is available that makes use of the fact that only for the normal distribution, the average and the sample standard deviation are independent. Users are cautioned that the test is not sensitive to non-normal distributions that are symmetrical. Normal probability paper is explored as a tool for use, in addition to the test, when specifically testing for normality. |
