Abstract:In recent years, the neighbouring countries have adjusted their policies, laws and regulations on utilising foreign investment and encouraged foreign investment and also formed a relationship of competition with China. As a result, in the short run, it will make the volume of foreign investment in China decrease. In the long run, however , the trends of diversion of foreign investment will become more clear. But such an influence will depend on China's policy adjustment, changes in the internal and external environment for investment and the state of economic development. Therefore, China should improve its policy treatment to foreign businessmen, give foreign-funded enterprises national treatment, push forward reform toward marketing and keep a healthy economic development in bid to attract foreign investment.
