| Abstract: | This article discusses the impact of capital gains tax in the functioning of equity markets and more specifically the impact of the tax on the equity financing and investment decisions of firms. The author states that the impact of a capital gains taxation on government revenue could be limited while simultaneously its impact on the workings of capital markets can be disruptive. |
