| Abstract: | This article examines the apparent tensions and paradoxes surrounding the introduction of new communications and information technologies. These new technologies are supposedly overcoming the tyranny of distance and cultural differences. The aim of this article is to question this claim and to replace the overused metaphor of networking with an alternative metaphor of netweawing. |
