| Abstract: | The development of chain operation pattern has already had its preliminary scale. By the end of July 1997, there had already been 1,000 chain companies, more than 14,000 chain stores. The growth rate of sales volume by chain stores is higher than the average growth rate of total volume of retail sales of the same period. The regional distributional pattern which centers on large and medium-sized cities and coastal areas and expands to other areas. At present, the chain operation pattern focuses on direct chain operation and chartered chain operation has just been triggered. "To expand scale by innovation and promote development in the form of standardization" is the development strategy for China's chain store business in the following years. |
