| Abstract: | Generally speaking, the scale of projects under construction in 1999 will see a large increase and the society-wide investment rate will rise by 20 per cent, which will push the growth of consumption. With the mitigation of the Asian financial crisis, the amount of exports will pick up to a certain degree over last year. Suggestions about the priority of investment in 1999: the Priority of investment should be given to installations construction of primary and secondary schools, conversion of scientific and technological achievements, environmental protection and the manufacture of related utilities, equipment industry ( at present, only 30 per cent of the annual increased machine tools are Chinese-made, 70 per cent need to be imported ) as well as technological innovation so as to upgrade of our products. |
