| Abstract: | In this paper the authors have attempted to problematize 'leisure' and 'consumption' as relatively neglected aspects of development literature where development should be seen as an historical process in which disparate, not universal, time-disciplines co-exist, often in a struggle for domination. The remainder of the paper analyzes the commoditization of leisure for a particular case, urban Fijians. |
