| Abstract: | This paper attempts to resolve a paradox related to a debate btw. anxious environmentalists' and sanguine 'contrarians' positions. This attempt is made by means of a model of environmental trends btw. 1950 and 2100. A crucial feature of this approach is to disaggregate the developed 'North' and developing 'South', revealing strikingly different patterns. |
