| Abstract: | In 1994 the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members agreed to the goal of free trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region by 2010 for industrialised economies and 2020 for developing economies. Since that announcement, considerable effort has been expended by a large number of researchers on quantifying the likely effects of such a move. |
