Abstract: | Greenfield sites have been seen as the most favourable setting for the adoption of HRM-style high-commitment work practices. This study presents a comparative study of Scottish and New Zealand greenfield employersÂ’ attempts to replicate a high-commitment philosophy. Analyzed is a number of factors threatening or undermining the practice of the philosophy. It is shown how managers continued to rely on the language of high-commitment by re-packaging and re-presenting the same philosophy. |
