Abstract:The authors of the paper state that the multiple, seemingly conflicting measurement frameworks and methodologies can coexist because they all add value and provide unique perspectives on performance. The authors also state that the key is to recognize that, despite the claims of some of the proponents of these various frameworks and methodologies, no one Holy Grail or best way to view business performance exists. The authors express an opinion that a pent-up demand exists for a multifaceted, yet highly adoptable, new framework that will address the needs for business performance measurement within the new competitive environment of the 21st century. On solution: A three-dimensional model called the performance prism.
