Abstract:Most non-profits have broad, inspiring mission statements - and they should. But they also need a systematic method connecting their callings to their programs. The article outlines for non-profits a 4-step process for developing strategy: create a broad inspiring mission statement, translate the core mission into a smaller quantifiable operational mission, create a strategy platform, and make reasoned strategic decisions.
