Abstract:In the study, important firm characteristics facilitating the scope and diversity of MNC's intra-network (hereafter as: i-n.) knowledge sharing (here as: kn-shg.) are examined. Drawing on the transaction cost concept, identified and evaluated are major transaction cost affecting factors determining MNC unit's differential involvements in i-n. kn-shg. Experiences used are from MNC subsidiaries in Korea. In general, the cultural similarity, the degree of parent's ownership, the product and process similarity, and the MNC's overall competitive advantages contribute to the scope and diversity of MNC's i-n. kn-shg.
