Abstract:The paper examines the market characteristics, such as relative attrectiveness of various countries in maximum penetration potential and diffusion speed, when introducing a new category of prescription drugs. As a result the authors found that developed nations tend to have lower diffusion speeds and maximum penetration levels. Also laggard developed countries have higher speeds. And finally, per capita expanditures on healthcare have a positive effect on diffusion speed while higher prices tend to decrease diffusion speed.
