Abstract:This article examines consumersÂ’ online buying behaviour. The results show that online shopping motivations of travel products of low and high complexity are distinctively different, and online shopping motivations vary depending on user skill levels. Purchasing of less complex products such as flights and car rentals was considered as transactional, while purchasing of tours, activities, accommodation and events was driven by informational parameters. Implications for travel marketing and future research are discussed.
