| Abstract: | This article is about healthcare and its position as a vast and sprawling enterprise in the USA. This article grows out of a conference which goal was to broadly explore recent trends in consumer involvement and consider where they may be taking us. The main section focuses on issues surrounding payment reform and changes on the demand side of the haelthcare market in burden of disease and methods of organizing delivery. The article provides also a brief discussion of possible future directions. |
