| Abstract: | There has been interest in revealing and examining barriers that that impede innovation, the suggestion being that the removal of such barriers constitutes a prerequisite for successful innovation. In the study conducted in eight firms that have received an award for groundbreaking innovation those form experiences were reported. It was showed, however, that the firms were as likely to ignore barriers as they were to address them. This paper reports on how the firms managed the various barriers that they encountered. |
