| Abstract: | This conceptual paper takes a social-epistemological view on knowledge communities and knowledge management. It explicates the patterns of social management of knowledge. The review shows that knowledge communities are multiple interactive social structures and new knowledge originates in social interaction. Patterns of knowledge management are mostly social in nature despite different contexts. |
