Abstract:This article describes how enterprise resource planning (hereafter as ERP) systems change over time. The study draws mainly upon ideas from actor network theory and the concept of biography. The particular case analyzed was an implementation of an ERP package within an Australasian organization. Keeping up with the development of the software package is the key to understanding the biography of ERP. This paper outlines the opportunistic and controversial production of a technological object and highlights the stabile as well as the fluid nature of ERP as a technological object.
