Abstract:Using data from the first Irish national survey of employees in 2003, this article studies four flexible working arrangements: flexitime, part-time hours, working from home and job sharing. This paper aims at finding out what the influence of these flexible working arrangements is on work pressure and work-life conflict. The findings indicate that working from home increases both work pressure and work-life conflict, but part-time hours and flexitime reduce them. Job sharing was found to have no significant influence on either work pressure or work-life conflict.
