Abstract:The paper examines human resource and human systems' aspects of the competitive dynamics in the Russian, highly varying and volatile market context. The study indicates that organizational capacity for change is positively related to firm performance in many Russian companies. Moreover, the relationship between organizational capacity for change and company performance is stronger with higher levels of uncertainty in the task environment. The organizational capacity for change is identified as an important character in all organizations regardless of size.
