| Abstract: | This study examines the impact of employee stock ownership (herein as: empl-o-s.) and board employee representation on firm performance (f-perf). Using a sample of 230 French firms during from 2000 to 2005 provide support for an inverted U-shaped relationship btw. e-o-s. and accounting-based performance measures. However, this relationship is not supported by a used market-based performance measure. It is also found that the inflection point of the inverted U-shaped relationship btw. e-o-s. and f-perf. is not dependent upon the level of employee representation on the board. |
