| Abstract: | This study explores the associations btw. the board of director's choice to integrate non-financial (henceforth as: n-f.) performance measures (as: p-msrs.) into the CEO bonus plan and two other governance mechanisms, board independence and CEO ownership, in a sample of publicly traded Canadian firms. There is provided evidence that the use of n-f. p-msrs. in the CEO bonus plan varies as expected. Growth opportunities are positively associated with the firm's choice to integrate n-f. information into the CEO bonus plan etc. |
