Abstract:Effective, ongoing technological cooperation requires sophisticated and complex business relations. Evidence from two cooperative ventures in the aerospace industry shows that peaceful cooperation is impossible. Partners can develop contentions processes, as opposed to contracts, that protect the interests of the two parties and enable each of the cooperating companies to improve their competitive position.
