Abstract:Stress can be a major cause of workplace inefficiency and leads to psychological, social and health problems. It is the most common reason for insufficient output and absenteeism. Stress avoidance and stress management can and should be taught on the management courses of current and future executives. Stress-related management failures can be particularly expensive. Individual stress factors can be identified by health-screening or consultation with industrial psychologists. Individuals can learn to minimize stress in their working and domestic lives. Companies can structure their organization to reduce ambiguity and conflict, to give managers autonomy and resources.
