| Abstract: | The belief that the intraorganizational environment is a political one represents the myth propagated and entertained to address various needs of corporate members. As a consequence of the adherence to the myth of the corporate political complexities appears the belief in the necessity for and the performance of political behavior itself. Political responses by others to this behavior support the myth and justify the behavior. Political behavior entails dysfunctional consequences that warrant its reduction or elimination. Reduction of political behavior depends upon acceptance of the argument that the workplace is not essentially political. |
