| Abstract: | Economic relations between Eastern Europe and the developing countries are discussed. Both the extent of the cooperation arrangements and direct capital linkages are found to be insignificant. Data are presented about the number of enterprises with CMEA capital participation. The total direct investment stock in developing countries is analyzed. The leading investor is Romania. Distribution of CMEA investments is examined by activity. The role of the investments is outlined. Possible future outlooks for East-South direct capital cooperation are summarized. Results of a study about investment proposals are discussed. |
