Abstract:The strengths of Japanese management is seen in the consistency between the Japanese culture and the way corporations operate; in being ready to learn; in having no people problems; in making decisions deliberately, and in operating with a longer time horizon. That Japanese people have a propensity to save a higher portion of their earnings, is emphasized. This provides a base of funds that banks can use to finance corporate endeavours. The strengths of American economy and firms are summed up, and the aspects to be learned from the Japanese are specified.
