Abstract:1992 is prognosticated to be the the beginning of a new era in the economic life of Europe. The position the Swiss economy within the process of integration is described. Deregulation and standardization as two essential components of the formation of the unified internal market are characterized and their consequences are clarified. Implications of this market for the Swiss companies are examined. A success model characteristic to the Swiss companies is sketched and its details are explained. The most important strategic considerations are summarized.
