Abstract: | A crisis can hit any company. Here is described how planning can minimize the damage. Company reputation and image further crisis preparedness influence how a company survives a crisis. There are four basic responses that companies tend to undertake in a crisis: a super effort; voluntary compliance; forced regulatory compliance; and denial. These responses can be done by developing a communication plan that identifies key stakeholders, their information needs, and how those needs can be met. The advance communication plan should include the following elements: a crisis telephone directory; spokespersons, press kits, and feedback from the public. |
