| Abstract: | A substantial literature was developed during the 1960s on such topics as managing innovation, managing change and technology transfer. Neither this literature, nor the results of research in the area of innovation were really able to influence managerial thought and practice. After reviewing a substantial body of literature on innovation, five references is selected to develop a typology that would help put innovation into perspective. First of all the individual and organizational issues (qualities and factors) that affect innovation are discussed. Then conditions for creating an innovative organization are summarized. The implications of these findings for entrepreneurship management are collected and new ideas are offered. |
