Abstract: | Employees' perceptions of social support and measures of their actual face-to-face interactions with peers and superiors are interrelated. Employees' satisfaction with interpersonal relations and perceived openness and trust are related to interpersonal communications. In studying social support at work three important dimensions of communications are considered: the source of information or the initiation of an interaction; direction of information flow, which can be lateral or vertical; interaction's content, especially its task relevance. |
