| Abstract: | Europe faces a fresh wave of acquisitions, but most acquisitions are failures for everyone except the financial intermediaries. But an accurate valuation of target company increases the change of success. Both tangible and intangible assets such as image, market share and the calibre of its management team should be included in the estimate of a target's value. It is wise to think of all the motives and synergies which any rival bidder might have, in case there is a scope for cooperation to avoid a price war. |
