Abstract:The effects of strike activity on labour productivity are examined in a sample of British industries in 1968. The method of the study includes estimating a production function where output depends on capital and labour inputs.Three measures of strike activity are employed: frequency, days lost, and duration. The results prove that high strike frequency shows a poor state of industrial relations.
