Abstract:Many organizations have invested significant amounts of capital to improve plant and operational productivity. The levels of productivity have increased and unit costs have decreased. While all productivity gains are not brought about by technology, it would be almost impossible to attain the gains without robotics, computer augmented functions such as computer aided design, or even simple billing and payroll systems, and other technology driven activities. The problem is the measurement of productivity gains.
