Abstract:Telemarketing is the systematic use of the telephone to market goods and services. Though telemarketing has many advantages, prospects may perceive it as an intrusion in their privacy. The market research organizations and the suppliers of the telephone infrastructure are also worried about the developments. To avoid serious problems in connection with telemarketing activities, the industry should consider some form of self regulation.
