Abstract: | Services are of increasing importance in modern economies. The main part of demand is caused by enterprises needing services in their production. Actually the service sector contributes more to total production than hardware industries. Also industrial enterprises are producing services to complete their products. These industrial services transfer know-how from producers to clients facilitating the optimal use of hardware. Therefore industrial services are essential for product quality and consequently for the market position of hardware enterprises. The special characteristics of industrial services should be recognized in business policies, especially in capacity planning, pricing, accounting and strategic planning. |
