Abstract:As more executives face the ordeal of a deposition, they need to know how to approach the situation to keep their company in the best light. It is necessary to understand that in such a case communications take place in a hostile, adversarial environment. As a defendant, the executive can only try to survive the deposition by discharging his or her legal obligation to answer honestly the questions asked. The type of questions that might be encountered during a deposition is identified. Many questions are designed to understand how the firm operates so the claims made in the lawsuit can be substantiated. The hidden agenda of a deposition is an inquiry for additional information.
