Abstract: | A Hong Kong-based electronic company finds it more and more difficult to deliver and maintain the same service level as before, a matter that will become more serious as the study is to address the need to optimize the service response time in the face of severe demand on the already hard-stretched manpower resources. The manpower required to achieve certain levels of service quality is also examined. Mathematical modelling techniques based on the well-tested square-root response distance formulation and a corresponding affine time-distance relationship are successfully applied to quantify the performance measure with respect to manpower resources. |
